History of Commitment
In 1987, Katie’s father founded National Benefits a TSA Company, a well-regarded 403(b) plan provider and benefits communication firm. Over the course of two decades, Katie had an opportunity to learn the business, working alongside and learning from both of her parents. She later established Classic Financial Services to continue the family legacy of providing 403(b) plan guidance and communications services to a diverse mix of school districts and not-for-profit organizations, and their respective plan participants.
Retirement Plan Specialist
As a retirement planning specialist, Katie has spent more than 15 years serving the needs of 403(b) plan sponsors and their participants. She brings extensive experience working with over 100 plans in more than 100 school districts. Her knowledge and experience as an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® enable her to assist school districts in plan design and fiduciary guidance; educate plan participants in aligning their investment allocations with their individual goals and values; and provide retirement plan transition assistance. Based near Minneapolis, she is widely known among school districts throughout Minnesota as a competent educator and trusted advisory clients.
Katie’s clients recognize the important role that professional guidance and a comprehensive financial strategy play in the pursuit of their financial goals. She serves advisory clients in a fiduciary capacity, which requires her to act in her client’s best interests, not simply meet suitability standards where investment decisions are concerned. Katie seeks to provide each of her clients with the information and guidance required to help them make the most appropriate financial decisions for their needs and circumstances.
Serving as an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designee , Katie is committed to a high standard of fiduciary support and guidance including regularly scheduled follow-up meetings with plan administrators and fiduciaries, delivering ongoing investment reporting and fund benchmarking, and group and one-on-one participant education and guidance. This sets her apart from many plan advisors who only serve in a sales capacity and may not have the experience, education or credentials required to serve as an active and ongoing partner to plan fiduciaries.
As an independent advisor with LPL Financial, the nation’s largest independent broker/dealer,* LPL Financial does not offer or manufacture proprietary investment products and has no ties to investment banking organizations. This allows Katie to provide objective, independent guidance that seeks to place client interests first at all times.
Katie completed the CFP Certification Program certificate in 2011 and holds her FINRA Series 6, 7, 63 and 65 securities registrations with LPL Financial.
